Types of the electric cable by their use
We have different types of electric cables available in
the market these days. With time the use of electric cables has also increased.
The common purpose of all these cables is to transfer electrical energy from one
place to another or in between a circuit. However, the use of these
electric wires and cable vary, and they are also
being manufactured in different ways. Below, we will share the information
about some of these electric cables along with their uses. It will help you
know how beneficial these electric cables are and for what purposes they are
being used.
Power Cables
They are being made using one or more than one electrical
conductor. These conductors are being placed together and covered using a sheath
made of different materials like rubber or PVC. Power Cables are being used for
power distribution for different types of connections, mainly the low voltage
connection. They are also being used for industrial purposes to distribute
electricity and are also known as energy cables.
Rubber Cables
Rubber is the insulating material that is being used to
insulate electric cables. It is the first choice when it comes to insulating
the electric cables. It is because rubber is said to have more resistance compared
to plastic and other insulation materials. As rubber cables are more durable,
so they are being preferred to use for outdoor purposes. For welding purposes,
people prefer to use rubber cables only. High current transmission is required
during the welding process, and rubber covering helps in providing better
protection. Other than this, rubber cables are also being used in mobile
services and fixed industrial installations.
Fire Resistant Cables
By the name only, one can understand that this cable is
being made to resist fire flow. Most cables that are not fire-resistant easily
spread fire and cause a lot of damage. But fire-resistant cable is being made
in a way that can slow down the burning process. They are mainly being used in
emergency equipment to be used in extreme conditions for transmitting
electrical energy. Some of the equipment in which the fire-resistantcable is being used are water pumps, smoke extractors, acoustic
alarms, and many others.
Many other wires and cables are also available, like
control cables, solar cables, submersible flat cables, mining cables, and a few
others. According to their quality and the way they are manufactures you can
get them for different uses.
